Privacy policy
Last updated 22 October 2026
Rectify is run by [Operator name and ABN] ("we"). This policy explains what we collect when you use Rectify, why, and what you can do about it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address and password. We store passwords only in a scrambled form we can't read.
- Your business: its name, logo, report colours, and its trade and location lists.
- Your inspections: project details such as names, site addresses and dates, and each defect's photo, trade, location and description. Photos can show people or places, so only take what you need for the report.
- Technical details: your IP address is used, briefly and only in memory, to limit repeated sign-in and sign-up attempts. Our server keeps short-lived error logs.
Why we use it
Only to run Rectify: to sign you in, store your inspections, build your reports, email you account links (such as confirming your email or resetting your password), and keep the service secure. We don't sell your information, show ads or use tracking or analytics tools.
On your device
We use one cookie, to keep you signed in. So that Rectify works with no signal, your browser keeps copies of pages and photos you've opened, and defects waiting to upload. Signing out clears the copies.
Who else handles it
- Binary Lane hosts our server and stores your data, in Australia.
- Resend delivers our account emails, which may be processed in the United States.
- Cloudflare runs our domain's DNS and the "are you a person" check on sign-up, which may read details about your browser.
People in your business can see the business's inspections, and its Admins can see each person's name and email. Anyone you share a report or inspection file with can see what's in it.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account or business exists. When you delete something, it goes from the app straight away and from our backups within 30 days.
Your choices
- See and correct your details on your Account page; Admins can change the business's details in Settings.
- Delete your account from your Account page, or, as an Admin, the whole business from Settings. Download any inspections you want to keep first.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or ask anything about this policy, at support@lastplate.dev. We'll reply within 30 days.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, tell us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
